We used to plan our days around nap windows with military precision.
If the timing was right, the pram would do the rest. A walk, a coffee, maybe even a quiet moment to ourselves while our child slept.
But at some point, that stopped working.
Pram naps became short and unsettled. Our child would drift off, then wake again almost immediately — restless, uncomfortable, unable to fully relax. And suddenly, going out felt risky. Like we were gambling with the rest of the day.
The frustration we didn’t expect
We found ourselves cutting outings short. Rushing home. Skipping plans altogether because we couldn’t rely on naps anymore.
It was especially hard when travelling or on long days out, when the pram had to double as a sleep space. We’d keep walking just to keep sleep going, knowing the moment we stopped, the nap would likely end.
At first, we wondered if our child was simply growing out of pram naps.
But the more we watched, the more it felt physical — like their body just couldn’t fully settle.
Realising what was missing
One day, it clicked: the recline just wasn’t quite enough anymore.
Close, but not close enough.
Our child was bigger, heavier, longer. And while the YOYO is an amazing travel pram, the recline angle meant sleep never felt truly deep or relaxed.
We didn’t need a completely new pram. We just needed a way for our child to lie back more comfortably.
A gentler way to nap on the go
After upgrading to a near-flat recline setup, the change wasn’t dramatic — it was quiet.
Sleep came easier.
Bodies relaxed more fully.
And naps lasted long enough to matter again.
We could stop walking. Sit down. Exhale.
It didn’t bring back newborn-length naps, but it brought back reliable ones — the kind that make travel days, errands, and long walks feel possible again.
Why this mattered so much to us
When naps fall apart, everything else feels harder.
Your patience thins. Plans shrink. The world starts to feel smaller than it should.
This small change didn’t just help our child sleep better — it gave us back confidence to leave the house without anxiety, knowing rest was still possible on the go.
Sharing, in case you’re here too
If you’re feeling stuck at home because pram naps no longer work, or if every outing feels like a countdown to overtiredness, you’re not alone.
Sometimes it’s not about routines or timing — it’s about comfort.
This was one of those moments for us. A quiet adjustment that made the days feel open again 🤍
For our family, that adjustment was a near-flat recline seat upgrade designed to work with the Stokke YOYO range, allowing our child to rest more naturally during on-the-go naps.
